CEU Bundles

California licensed Operators and Field Representatives are required to renew their license by June 30th every three  (3) years. The number of CEUs required depends on the types of Branches held by the person. The following outlines the number of hours required based on the types of branches held.

CEU Requirements for Applicators:

Licensees are required to complete 4 hours of Rules & Regulations, 6 hours in Pesticide Use and Application, and 2 hours of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

CEU Requirements for Field Representatives and Operators:

 Licensees are required to complete 8 hours of Rules & Regulations, 4 Technical hours in each branch the individual is licensed in, and 4 additional hours. Field Representatives and Operators licensed in Branch 2 and/or 3 are required to gain 2 hours of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as part of the 4 additional hours.

Individual DPR Courses

This course covers the different sections of a pesticide label and safety data sheets. This course has been approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) for 1.5 CEU hours of "law" and 0.5 CEU hours of "Other" for QAL, QAC, and PCA, and Private Applicator license holders. This course is delivered online and requires a passing grade of 70% on the final quiz to pass.

This course uses examples of labels that cover a variety of types of pesticides and a variety of sites. This module reviews how pesticides move from development to registration, the different pesticide types and the pros and cons of each, how to read a label and interpret the different sections and their meanings, label exceptions and when these exceptions are relevant. This course has been approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) for 1 CEU hour of "Law" for QAL, QAC, and PCA, and Private Applicator license holders. Often times the client fails to recognize that the presence of weeds in a turf stand is the result of poor turf, not the cause. Correct identification of the problem weed is a must of developing a management strategy, as is a working knowledge of weed biology and how herbicides work. The goal of a turfgrass IPM program is to keep pest populations or damage at a tolerable level. This is called the pest response threshold level.
