The goal of a turfgrass IPM program is to keep pest populations or damage at a tolerable level. This is called the pest response threshold level. It is determined by the number of pests or the amount of pest damage that can be sustained before an unacceptable reduction in turf quality occurs.

This course is approved by the Washington State Department of Agriculture for Pesticide and SPI License Recertification credits.

After completing this course participants will be able to:

  • Develop healthy turf that can withstand pest pressure.
  • Responsible and efficient use of pesticides.
  • Enhance populations of natural, beneficial organisms.
  • Tackle pest problems when pests are most vulnerable.
