Storing pesticides properly protects human and animal health, safeguards wells and surface waters, and prevents unauthorized access to hazardous chemicals. Proper pesticide waste disposal is an important part of responsible pesticide use. Improper disposal can lead to contamination of soil, groundwater, and surface water, causing serious liability problems for the pesticide user, as well as a poor public image.

  • After completing this course participants will be able to:
  • Communicate the benefits and characteristics of a good pesticide storage area.
  • Summarize proper techniques for proper pesticide disposal.
  • Implement safe practices while transporting pesticides.
  • Understand procedures for responding to pesticide-related emergencies, such as spills and fires.

This course is approved by the FDACS for a maximum of 1 Hour of CEU for the following Categories: 482 Core (Structural) and 487 Core (Ag). The course is online and available in both English and Spanish.
