Turfgrass Pest Management – DPR CA

This course is approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) for 2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for license renewal for QAL, QAC, Aerial, and PCA licenses.

Weed control is important. Methods include hand cultivation with hoes, powered cultivation with cultivators, smothering with mulch or soil solarization, lethal wilting with high heat, burning, or chemical attack with herbicides and cultural methods such as crop rotation and fallowing land to reduce the weed population. At the completion of this course, participants will have knowledge of the following:

•       Planet Development Stages and Life Cycle.
•       Weed Identification.
•       Managing Turf Weeds.
